Hive inspection?

#1

I installed a package of Carniolans almost 3 weeks ago. They are starting to attach comb to the windows on the first Warre box. I have a burlap covering with a cutout for the feed to go in and an empty Warre box around it on the top. I have not done any inspections other than peeking in through the window. I’m also feeding 1:1 sugar syrup, they’re going through about 5lbs of sugar/week.

A couple of days ago, I added another box underneath since I felt inspired and they are crawling around the middle box now (not sure what they’re doing). The bees are flying in and out from about 9 am to 6 pm or later on these sunny days.

Am I supposed to do any hive inspections? What should I be looking for either from outside or in?

Thanks for the help, this is my very first experience with bees.
